Private rainwater collection now illegal as state governments assert ownership

From Mike Adams at Natural News:

“(NaturalNews) Many of the freedoms we enjoy here in the U.S. are quickly eroding as the nation transforms from the land of the free into the land of the enslaved, but what I’m about to share with you takes the assault on our freedoms to a whole new level. You may not be aware of this, but many Western states, including Utah, Washington and Colorado, have long outlawed individuals from collecting rainwater on their own properties because, according to officials, that rain belongs to someone else.

As bizarre as it sounds, laws restricting property owners from “diverting” water that falls on their own homes and land have been on the books for quite some time in many Western states. Only recently, as droughts and renewed interest in water conservation methods have become more common, have individuals and business owners started butting heads with law enforcement over the practice of collecting rainwater for personal use….”

  1. Also here in British Columbia. We will soon have a natural (already there ) sistern on our property. We are being Forced to remove or fill with sand. The most absurd thing I have heard of. We have water restrictions that prohibit the growing of grass and flowers never mind vegetables. It scares the heck out of me. Why do they not just create a tax –get it over with and let us use our water God decides to drop on our home. It is all about the money you know.!!!!!

    • I have been searching for hours and cant find out what the laws are for Minnesota. But in response to the first post, it is not all about the money. It is all about dependency and they want you to have to depend on the government and corporations. Not sure about Canada but most places have central bank where they just print money to give to their friends. they dont need your tax money they just collect it to make your life more difficult. If they thought they could get away with it collecting water / growing vegetables would be a lot more illegal in a lot more places. it is all about world depopulation & domination. money is just the means to an end. read about the bilderberg conference @ http://www.dracoshempemporium.com

  2. A romanian guy

Police; “Hey, why do you collect rainwater ?”
Me; ” I collect it because i know it’s yours and i want to deliver it to some of your lands, i don’t need it on my land, SiR !”

  3. As of September 28, 2013; your post is quite misleading. There are no states in the U.S. where rainwater harvesting is flat out against state law. In fact, more and more states are actually encouraging rainwater harvesting. There may be some isolated counties, or housing developments where local laws prohibit “rain barrels”, but no states outlaw rainwater harvesting. There are, however, regulations in some states. There are only 4 states where rainwater harvesting is heavily regulated. 33 states have no regulations or laws whatsoever regarding rainwater harvesting. Washington, Utah, and Colorado have recently changed their laws to be more permissive with rainwater harvesting.
