Michael's first bite of food ending his hunger strike on day 37 yesterday.

Dear Mr. McGuinty,

I wanted to take a moment and thank you very much for meeting with Michael Schmidt. It meant so much to him and to the rest of us that support freedom of food choice. As a small farmer myself, I sincerely hope that the laws will soon change to accomodate the wishes of informed Canadians and the farmers that take pride in what they do. Raw milk crusader ends hunger strike after meeting with Ontario Premier

OWEN SOUND, ONT. – Raw milk crusader Michael Schmidt ended his hunger strike after meeting with Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty Friday.

“I never asked for a commitment from the premier,” said Schmidt said from Toronto. “We shook hands and (started) talking. That is enough for me to stop my hunger strike. That’s all what I was asking for.” Continue reading
