MNR drops charges against Mark Tijssen over backyard pig slaughter

This is an interesting and not really surprising development. Allan Ryan was also there the lawyer arguing on the behalf of the MNR. What is also interesting that in this case no powerful lobby group pushing for punishment at all cost is in the background. Michael Schmidt’s B.C. contempt of court prosecution postponed til April

Michael Schmidt announced yesterday that proceedings against him on the charge of contempt of court are being postponed until April 2 and 3 of 2012. As Jayne Wilson commented on Facebook, it’s “as close as they could get to April Fool’s Day”. Here’s the message Michael sent yesterday:
