“FDA at a Crossroads” conference

No mention here of the FDA’s dairy policy, but I don’t know why questions about raw milk shouldn’t be raised in a conference like this.

“A conference co-sponsored by the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services and the Union of Concerned Scientists

As Congress prepares to debate and reauthorize the laws that govern how drugs and medical devices are evaluated, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stands at a crossroads. The decisions of Congress regarding the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) and the Medical Device User Fee Act (MDUFA) will affect the agency’s ability to address existing and emerging challenges such as new medical technology, prescription drug and device efficacy and safety concerns, and budget limitations.

This was the context in which UCS and George Washington University co-sponsored a November 2011 conference for experts from academia, government, patient and consumer groups, and industry to exchange ideas and develop recommendations for the FDA to address these challenges.   2. To anyone with more than one brain cell – the USDA is a rogue unconstitutional agency that illegally writes law. Besides being unconstitutional (illegal) The fact that they exist is an abomination in a free society.

    In addition they are owned lock stock and barrel by big business and actually adopt policies that kill and harm American citizens. (i.e. Vioxx killed as many Americans as the Vietnam war)

    I really like the way China treated the head of their FDA that made decisions that harmed people. THEY EXECUTED THE SOB!
    We sure could use some Chinese style justice in the land of the free.
