Here’s what they say about US Senator Ron Paul, who is speaking at the MNC conference in Ottawa this week:
“Ron Paul was a Republican primary candidate in the last US election, where he built a huge following among young online activists.
He is known as a libertarian-minded Republican – taking a tough line on debt and deficits while criticizing American foreign policy, the War on Drugs, and the Federal Reserve. He has also been characterized as the “intellectual godfather” of the Tea Party movement.
Paul served twelve terms in Congress, where he earned the nickname “Dr. No” by opposing anything not explicitly authorized in the U.S. Constitution.
Paul ran as the Libertarian Party’s presidential nominee in 1988, and also sought the GOP presidential nomination in 2008.
Before being elected to Congress in a 1976, Paul practiced medicine as an obstetrician-gynecologist and delivered over 4,000 babies.”
Ron Paul is also on record as a supporter of the freedom to choose raw milk.
The Milk War movie was shown today at 10:30 am:
“The Free Thinking Film Society presents “Milk War”. Dairy farmer Michael Schmidt found himself facing multiple charges. The offence: selling unpasteurized milk, a practice outlawed in Canada. Milk War tells the story of one man’s battle with government authorities over raw milk – a fight that Schmidt insists is really about the fundamental right “to eat what we want.”
FYI – Ron Paul is not, and never was a US Senator. He was, however, a congressmen for many terms (now retired).
Also, in addition to his runs for president in 1988 and 2008, he also ran in 2012.
